What is the Fund and why does it exist?
This Fund is provided by the University of Strathclyde’s Alumni Fund. The Alumni Fund provides funds to enhance the Strathclyde experience of current and future generations of students through scholarships, clubs, societies and international development projects. This project aims to widen access for Strathclyde students who are financially disadvantaged to get involved in extra-curricular activities on and off campus.
The Fund was created primarily for students from widening access backgrounds, mature, disabled, carers and care leavers to remove financial barriers and provide students with an inclusive Strathclyde experience whilst encouraging career prospect development through extra-curricular activities.
Details on the categories of widening access backgrounds can be found here:
· Resident in a target postcode (Quintile 1 or 2)
· Attended a target school
· Entered university through an access programme such as SWAP
· Entered university directly from Further Education
