Getting Involved in Clubs and Societies

The Union offers many clubs and societies, spanning a huge range of interests, cultures, and groups. You can choose to get involved in Clubs and Societies in a number of ways:

1. Join a Club

The simplest and easiest way to get involved is just to join a club or society and take part in its activities. There is bound to be a club or two you will find interesting, whether it be cultural, political, interest or course related.

2. Start a new club of your own

If you can't find a club or society to suit you, why not start your own? There are some simple steps to follow when starting up a new club or society;

  • Have an idea of what you want to do.
  • Fill in this form and submit to the the Clubs and Societies Convenor.
  • Have a launch night.

3. Join the Clubs and Societies Executive
The Clubs Exec is a group of volunteers who run the Clubs Office on Level 7 of the Union.
Led by the Convenor of Clubs and Societies they ensure that clubs are given the support they need. They deal with the admin of the Clubs Office and work in support of the overall aims of the Clubs and Societies department.

For all enquiries about Clubs & Societies contact Judith Murray, this years Convenor of Clubs and Societies in the Clubs Office (level 7), or by email, at clubsconvenor@theunion.strath.ac.uk
