Strathclyde University Muslim Students' Association

The Strathclyde University Muslim Students' Association caters for the cultural and spiritual needs of Muslim students. It provides a representative platform for Muslim students and is responsible for maintaining a prayer hall and organising Friday prayer and prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

  • Our aim is to present Islam in its true perspective by creating an atmosphere conductive to the Islamic Spirit where Muslim students may practice and observe their religion and to promote spiritual welfare amongst all students.
  • We also aim to promote social, academic and cultural activities among Muslim students in the light of Islamic teachings and to foster the cause of mutual understanding among various religious groups.
  • Some of our activities include:

    • Weekly study circles.
    • Weekly Arabic classes
    • Monthly talks from Local and foreign speakers, discussions and debates covering a variety of topics.
    • Annual football and netball tournaments.
    • Annual Eid dinner.
    • End of term get together.
    • General maintenance and running of the prayer hall
    • Weekly football matches
