What is the Exec?

The Students’ Association Executive Committee is commonly known as ‘the Exec’ and consists of 6 paid full time and 6 voluntary part-time Officers (all Strathclyde Students) who are elected annually around March by the student body.

The Exec is responsible for the day-to-day running and the long term development of the Students’ Association. Each Executive Officer has specific responsibilities for the overall operation of the Association. They ensure that the mission of The Union being run by students, for students is a reality – both with and for you.

Remember the Executive are your representatives, you can question them on what they’re doing for you either by talking to them in person, emailing or phoning them. The Executive are held to account through the Student Representative Council (SRC) which you can get involved in.

If you’ve any questions or comments on what each member does don’t hesitate to contact the President (Philip Whyte) at president@theunion.strath.ac.uk.

You voted for change in the referendum so this is the last year that the Exec (and the driving bodies of the Association) will be the same. For more info on what this means for you go to the Big Student Meeting pages
