How many Reps should I elect and when?

How Many Reps?
A good rule of thumb is to elect 1 Class Rep for every 50 students. However, some classes/courses find it helpful if they have a pair of student reps to represent their peers even if there are not 100 students in the class/course. This way the student reps can work together and ensure that they are more representative of their class. Other very large classes/courses find that having too many student reps can be unmanageable so adopt a system of representation with slightly less than 1 rep per 50 students. So, it's really up to you to decide what you think will work best for your class or course.

When?
Class/Course Reps need to be elected by the beginning of the 3rd week of the semester. By ensuring timely elections and feeding the names of the Reps back to your department administrator and to USSA, Class Reps will be fully informed of and have the opportunity to enrol in induction or top-up training that takes place generally in the 4th and 5th week of each semester.
