Modern Languages Classroom Assistant

Are you a native speaker of a European Language? Be a part of this exciting new project which aims to broaden school pupils' knowledge of language and culture. Meet this organisation at our event on 19th September!

About the Role

Strathclyde Union are working in partnership with Scotland’s National Centre for Languages & Glasgow City Council to provide this exciting volunteering opportunitiy to Strathclyde Students. We are looking for students who are native speakers of European Languages to assist in language classes in schools. Pupils will benefit not only from speaking with a native speaker but also from gaining an insight into the volunteer's home culture.

As a volunteer, you will recieve induction training to prepare you for the role and be placed in a school which teaches your native languge. You will be added to Glasgow City Council's mentoring mailing list where you can opt in to take part  opportunities for training and development.

Strathclyde students are encouraged to log their volunteer hours in order to be formally recognised for their acheivements. We also run a monthly Student Volunteering Network where you can recive an intorduction into student volunteering, meet other volunteers and let us know of any training opportuntiies you would like Strathclyde Union to provide.
